About

I am a freelance proofreader, copyeditor, and writer with more than two decades of experience. Much of that experience involves line editing literary and genre fiction (including young adult and middle grade, detective, sci-fi/fantasy, and erotica), nonfiction, screenplays, and memoir. I have assisted authors at every level from aspiring to published in preparing manuscripts for publication.

My technical expertise centers on the fields of earth science (chemistry, geology, and hydrology) and environmental remediation. I have also edited scholarly efforts in anthropology, economics, the humanities, new media, and theology. My specialty is making dense, technical language clear and captivating for all readers.

I live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have worked with authors all over the United States and in other countries.

My clients are authors of fiction, literary nonfiction, and memoir seeking traditional representation or self-publication. They are scholars and academics who have written books, journal articles, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations. I have worked extensively with non-native speakers to polish their technical and scientific writing. I also assist corporate and not-for-profit clients in strengthening their business plans, grant applications, and marketing publications. You can find a short list of past clients and employers here and a list of recently and soon-to-be published books here.
